Welcome to the Fragrance of Prayer Blog.  My name is Delphine.

I am passionate about prayer and developing a deep relationship with God.  I believe that the spiritual discipline of prayer, reading the Word of God and personal development promote strong character and the ability to shape your destiny.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you, it will be so exciting!

My journey with prayer began many years ago.  As a young child I enjoyed taking long walks and spending time alone with God.  I grew up in a small, Southern town so the neighbors were usually outdoors during the evening hours.  I would take long walks, talking to God along way and stopping to greet my neighbors.

As I matured in my Christian walk prayer became an essential ingredient in my personal life.  I wanted to have a deep and intimate relationship with the Lord.  This was greatly affected by my Bible reading and the sermons I heard while attending church regularly.

Through the years I have remained committed to my spiritual growth and development through daily Bible reading, prayer, worship, relationships and contemplation.

In the early 1990′s I experienced a personal renewal or revival.  This renewal launched me into a quest to really come to know the ways of God and take my relationship to a deeper level.  I am sure you can relate to the times in our lives when we allow our relationships to become comfortable.

“A Position of Prayer”

This was a time of deep personal change and growth.  As a result I saw the need for more prayer in my church. I felt that I was to write a plan of how to start a ministry of prayer.  During many hours of prayer and time alone with God I wrote a vision and as a result twelve years later there is a vibrant prayer team in my church.  What God will do in your life as you yield is always so marvelous!

That was just the beginning of the doors that He would open in my life to bless others.  In 2001 I was a part of a group of women who sponsored Anne Graham Lotz’s Just Give Me Jesus Revival Meeting in our community.  My heart overflowed as I watched over 14,000 people, mostly women, worshipping God!

I also had the privilege of leading prayer rallies and helping to start over 100 prayer groups in our region.  To God be the glory!

It is amazing how faithful God is to us when we answer the quiet call to join Him.

Since that time I have ministered to hundreds of people through prayer rallies, conferences and seminars.  I am also a guest contributor on WCRF, the Cleveland Moody Radio station broadcasting a 2 minute quarterly prayer segment.

In 2009 I published, The Fragrance of Prayer: Time Alone in the Presence of God.  I recently completed the companion study guide.  I am grateful and understand that the best in my life has truly just begun with Him!  God has so much more for me and you!
